What Is a Night at WellSpan Park Like? The York Revolution from Above
A York Revolution game is a night in a 7,500-capacity ballpark in downtown York, with lawn seating, fireworks on most Saturdays, and a Lancaster rivalry the city takes seriously. WellSpan Park is at 5 Brooks Robinson Way, a few blocks from Central Market and the Yorktowne Hotel.
I fly my drone over the ballpark a few times each season. From above you see a full stadium tucked inside a row-home neighborhood with the city skyline behind the outfield. This is what it is, where it is, and who it matters to when you are buying.
Who are the York Revolution?
The Revolution are an independent professional team that has played in the Atlantic League since 2007. The club was founded in 2006 and took the field the next spring. The Atlantic League has been an official MLB Partner League since 2020. York has won five league championships: 2010, 2011, 2017, 2024 and 2025, the last one clinched on October 1, 2025 against the High Point Rockers.
Where is WellSpan Park, and what was it called before?
The ballpark is at 5 Brooks Robinson Way, York, PA 17401, in the Arch Street neighborhood on the north edge of downtown. It opened on June 15, 2007 and cost $32.5 million to build. The name follows the sponsor:
- Sovereign Bank Stadium, 2007 to 2013
- Santander Stadium, 2014 to 2015
- PeoplesBank Park, 2016 to 2022
- WellSpan Park, announced February 20, 2023
WellSpan Health has been the team's official healthcare provider since the first season, so the current name is a local one. Capacity is listed at 7,500, including a lawn area that holds about 1,600. The left-field wall, called the Arch Nemesis, stands 37 feet 8 inches, six inches taller than Fenway's Green Monster, because Arch Street sits 300 feet from home plate.

What is a game night actually like?
It is a low-cost, walkable night out. The 2026 schedule has 63 home games with more than 20 theme nights, weekly giveaways, and fireworks after almost every Saturday game. The game that fills the place is the War of the Roses against the Lancaster Stormers; the two clubs are named for the English cities on opposite sides of the Wars of the Roses, and the season series decides the Community Cup.
What happens at the ballpark on the Fourth of July?
The city's July 4 celebration, July4York, is held at WellSpan Park. In 2026 the day ran like this: a family fun zone on Brooks Robinson Plaza at 2:30 p.m., gates for ticketed fans at 4:00, a veterans parade on the warning track, the Revolution against Lancaster at 5:00, then the gates opened to the public for free at about 7:00. The York Symphony Orchestra and Chorus played at 8:30 and the fireworks went up at 9:30. That is the show in my third photo.

Does the ballpark matter when you buy a home in York?
It matters if you want a downtown life. From the row homes north and east of Market Street you can walk to a game, and North York borough and the Route 30 corridor are a few minutes' drive. If you are looking at a house in York City, go to a game before you decide; the noise and the fireworks are part of the neighborhood.

Questions people ask
Can I watch the July 4 fireworks without a ticket?
In 2026, yes. The gates opened to the public for free after the game ended, about 7:00 p.m., for the symphony and the fireworks. Check yorkrevolution.com each year for the current plan.
Is there fireworks after regular games?
The team says fireworks follow almost every Saturday home game during the season.
Why is the left-field wall so tall?
Arch Street runs 300 feet from home plate, so the park needed a high wall. At 37 feet 8 inches it is taller than any other fence in professional baseball.
